PuristS and Carl F. Bucherer in 2009

Jun 18, 2016,18:33 PM

Todd,

Thanks for the post.
I guess the diver's watch must contain a rugged 3rd party movement behind the Manta engraved caseback.

Back since 2009, PuristS were initially excited by the Carl F. Bucherer automatic movement A1000 with peripheral rotor.
We held a couple of GTG (get togethers) in Hong Kong and Taipei.
Later, Herr Prof Dr Marcus Hanke wrote an excellent review of the Carl F. Bucherer Patravi Evotec Day Date watch.

Memories......

Carl F. Bucherer ScubaTec: Review by an innocent bystander

So I guess advertising works. After seeing Carl F. Bucherer's ScubaTec on the back cover of Cigar Aficionado Magazine, a good friend turned to me, inquiring about brand. As the proud owner of a Carl F. Bucherer Patravi TravelTec, I am certainly a fan of B...

My personal preference is the SS white dial with bracelet, which gives me a lighter and brighter summer feel. Thanks for this review, Todd.

It sounds like your passion and friendship is strong.

Your buddy is lucky to make your acquaintance. Your reporting is also first class great pictures and review. If only the magazine go divulge as much ad you they would sell thousands. Thanks for this great report. Bill

CFB is often a brand overlooked as they never really got their marketing on track (in my opinion of course!), but they do produce some great pieces and have a wonderful history too for creating timepieces. This is for sure one of them, together of course ...

CFB creates really superb timepieces - I saw how their dials are made...

I admire their dedication to the details and their openness for unusual solutions (e.g. peripheral rotors, innovative GMT functionalities). The ScubaTec ist just another example of a powerful, masculine but not overdone design. In the given combination of...
