Protocol checklist.Attention Horo
I am the self appointed aide de camp for Andrew Daly.I have duly checked the titles accorded to him and can confirm you have not missed any or made any errors. Congratulations are in order given that Singapore has been a Republic for quite a while.
In accordance with protocol, based on the highest honour bestowed on Andrew Daly, a 19 gun salute should be accorded. Andrew Daly being Andrew as you know him , is a quietly spoken gentleman with no air or graces. He will accept in lieu of a 19 gun salute ( which he thinks will add to the noise and air pollution, gun powder smoke ) a 19 man guard of honour instead , each wearing a minute repeater ( any brand but must be mechanical ) set to chime ( can be minute , quarterly or hourly signal ) with watch on outstretched arm with watch dial canted so he can clearly see the dial. The chime must be set so Andrew Daly can stop, listen and walk to the next guard of honour before the next watch chimes and so on till the end of the guard of honour.
Singapore , being a city state with wealthy Horologists will have many purists with repeaters only too willing to volunteer to be in the guard
of honour so they can show off their watch. If for some unknown reason/s you cannot muster the 19 minute repeaters or fall short, just give your pal Bernard Cheong a call. I am confident he will only be too happy to supply all 19.
