And many of the brands simply plonk in a quartz movement into the female watches as a matter of course. I am sure many more women than today would enjoy a mechanical movement just like men do, if this was marketed to them better or in a way that makes it interesting to them. Sure there is the 'inconvenience' of winding or keeping it worn regularly but that applies to men, too.
