Maybe ask the seller if you can fly to where he's located and then do the exchange in person at the bank.  See how he responds to this.

If he feels a little awkward about this, then I would suggest passing.

Other than that, seller seems to have verified that he does have the watch in possession from the "take a pic of watch at this time" request.  Now I hope it's not one of those good counterfeits from China.  Only way to tell is to look at the movement itself...
