LOL. I guess I'm the only one who has Watch Pet peeves.

there are many things that one could say i particularly dont like when dials have too much writing sounds crazy but i think it makes it look cheap

1) I sort of understand having "automatic" or "chronometer" in the dial, especially if a brand has various watches that look similar and it actually helps to distinguish the watches. But writing "tourbillon" above or below the complication that is exposed... 

a) My main pet peeve is brands using tiny movements in large cases. I'm alright with medium sized movements in large cases, but miniscule movements in large cases is a no no for me. Many brands try to design the dial with a lot of superfluous text or minu... 

Good list especially the small movements in big cases.

But very subjective, in my opinion, so I will only speak for myself. The worst for me are fake watches. Then, very colse to fakes, the " Homage ", I mean watches totally remade with spare parts, which we see a lot with Vintage Panerai. Then, an excessive ...

I live within walking distance of the biggest brewery in Australia. In Summer, you can see the bottles whizzing by. I tried using the Tachy to determine the production rate (yes, nerdy) got about 3 different figures....and very strange looks from passers-...

super luminova painted dial as a whole for example some chronoswiss watches, green luminova , too much writing on the dial or non organized mismatch of colors on the dial small movements for big cases . Faisal

Watches with horrible lume??? Whats the point of having luminous hands and Hour Markers with bad lume?

The color, the way in which it is applied, the parts of the watch it is used on (what's the use of lumed hands when the indices are not similarly lumed), mismatched colours on hands and dial, the duration and intensity of the luminosity, etc. Interested..... 

Its not the color, but some companies like Invicta for example say their lume (Tritnite) is some of the best I out there believe it when I say it sucks. And some companies can sometimes be a little lazy when they use luminous paint. But that's for other p... 

Leather straps on dive watches make no sense to me. Also sports chronos, the kind you would go swimming with, not having screw down pushers. No big deal but just kind of makes me wonder.... Ray

1) Limited editions when there are a couple of thousands of the same watch out there. Or just come out with variations of dials and it's a limited edition? I dun think I need to mention the manufactures that does this...most are guilty. 2) 50mm or bigger ...

"white" date boxes on colored dials, rather than paying the extra couple of bucks to get a same-color-as-dail disc with white font. (i.e.: it's my one pet peeve with my Superocean and Compressor Diver Chrono vs my Hour Vision). Beyond that, mega-complicat... 

I have seen some watches where I could not find the hands. I don't mean I couldn't find them at first glance, I mean they were invisible. Maybe my eyes are not as good as they used to be (they're not), but it really should be possible to tell that a watch... 

1.) Big watches with puny dates - If you are going to up the size of the watch, make the time, date and other complications legible 2.) Skeleton watches - Beautiful to look at, as long as you don't have to read the time 3.) Crowded dials- Simpler is usual...
