Horological Meandering

great post !

and with exactly the right cartoon smile

I agree with ALL of your points, including the cock-eyed calender beyond 4 o'clock - that good old 2892 or whatever the module placed on top of a particular sandwich construction.

Makes me sick!

As for an equivalent punishment in this or the afterlife - bashing out parts for whatever you can name on a production line overseen by enough real people - totally including women - around to laugh the designer to death - if he is not dead enough already!

Ah, sweet dreams of becoming the next Great Designer.

Well, first I start with shoes - watches - then I go on to parfumes, lotionary products, beauty-enhancing creams. Then I have a Brand Name - and my boutiques and collections.

I guess you catch my drift.

And with you all the way.

P.S. I am obviously biased toward the arts of horology and not design for its own sake. When a watchmaker can work together with a designer, without one Ego gaining supremicy over the other - meaning the Designer - then extraordinary results can happen.

My special case - the watches from Vianney Halter: conflicts, misunderstandings - but the result is Exactly right for me!

And I could not design even a door-knob.
