Men's and women's watches? Just some size differences?

Hi all, it all started with my wrist injury a while ago. This is the result of not doing a warm-up exercise. Anyway, I can't wear heavy wrist accessories for a short time, even a watch. When I found that the watch was hard to wear, I took a closer look at my treasures - beautiful, but also heavy.

Watches with large dials make the whole person look more majestic, at least that's what I think. But it really makes me uncomfortable not wearing a watch, so I recently set my sights on smaller watches. You know, the ones that don't make you feel like you have a small clock tied to your wrist? I was concentrating until I saw the small label that said "women's".

I hesitated, but I immediately realized that this was a bit arbitrary. Many women have been wearing "men's" watches - large watches are fashionable and no one will notice. But when it's the other way around, people tend to take a second look. Why is this?

The most essential difference between men's watches and women's watches is size. Other than that, I really don't notice much difference between them. So, is this just a branding gimmick?
