magnetic fields have no weight...
Tha mass of the rotating magnet (the rotor) is not enough to replace the balance wheel. But why not in a completely new conception !
The spring has been replaced by magnetic fields because magnetic fields have no mass. The problem with the hair spring is that its gravity center is different from its rotation center. Moreover, its gravity center is moving while the balance wheel is coming back and forth. This is why it's just impossible to have a truly balanced balance wheel. I think that what the tourbillons are made for... But in the case of this magnetic balance wheel, there is no need to correct its lack of balance.
