Horological Meandering

Hi Everyone, Have been looking around for dual time zone watch for my travels. Have seen some World timers, GMTs and Dual timers but have not come across any that allows half hour adjustments. I know of a certain Michel Jordi and Piaget has 2 movements in... 

They have a beautiful and practical GMT watch called the Hemispheres that can be adjusted to the minute and even shows am/pm on a 24 day/night scale in each time zone. The following link will lead you right to it. And, if you click on the small small pict... 

Master banker allows for half hour adjustment. Not too sure though.

which made its debut at SIHH 2008. Parmigiani doesn't get much chatter on the internet IMO, but they do make great watches but price tags are fairly high. (Below are Nicolas' pics) And here's a pic of the display back which shows the off-centered movement...  

The Kalpa Hemisphere is a winner! We could also recommend U.N watches, lie the Sonata, for example, or the Perpetual Calendar GMT. Best, Nicolas

seen the Sonata- a UN representative demonstrated for me..... It seems to be a perfect watch for traveling, provided that you can afford it....... Otherwise I would recommend the JLC timezone..... Cheers

UN GMT adjust for half hour?

I don't believe the UN has a half hour adjustment, only hour. What it does have, which is nifty, is that the date adjusts to where you are and doesn't stay on the home schedule. As a fellow WIS once said to me, "I don't give a sh** what day it is where I'...

I think if you search through the forums you will find we have discussed this before, and there are a dozen or so choices. But not really that many! Cheers Mike...

The F.P. Journe Resonance is one of the few that can do India (which is GMT + 4:30). However, it lacks an AM/PM indicator for both timezones, which may be useful. Another good watch to consider is the Daniel Roth dual timezone watch. This is the only watc... 

But it is way way beyond my budget. Thanks guys.

List of time zones with odd minutes - mostly islands with a few land-locked countries Mike UDT / Greenwich -> going westward Newfoundland -3.5 Venezuela - 4.5 Marquises - 9.5 Date Line -> going westward Chatham + 12.75 Lord Hove + 12.5 Norfolk + 11.5 Mid-... 

That is why the GMTs and World Timers did not fulfill my needs. I have actually shortlisted the JLC Master Geographic and AP RO dual time....only to discover that the second time zone cannot be adjusted independantly by the half hour interval. So don't re... 

Journe himself never imagined this watch as a dual time watch. He just saw it as two watches in synch. But it is a splendid two time zone watch. Brilliant in fact. And you can do half hours if you want. I use my Resonance a lot as a travel watch. Jeff
