Horological Meandering

Yesterday I had the opportunity to handle 2 watches from the Cyclos collection. The main feature of these watches is a very interesting complication: the ability to get a 24 hours dial but with the same display as it was a 12 hours dial. Using the crown, ...  

That hour mechanism is fascinating. Spent some time on the Cyclos website staring at it. Though, to be a pedant, the tip of the hour hand follows the spiral, the dial is just 2 offset circles.

... unless it's meant for use in Earth orbit, you really only need a 24hr indicator for a watch that shows a timezone elsewhere. It's a lovely complication but one would like to see a GMT hand doing that, rather than the hometime hand. Next model, maybe? ... 

there are a large number of watch collectors all over the world who like a 24hr dial, there are websites dedicated to them. i personally like them as long as they arent crowded with numbers. i'm wearing one at the moment which looks classy and high qualit... 

I was taking too narrow a view. If I read you correctly, Cyclos' target group does not only consist of astronauts but also of submariners, jaded collectors, and couch potatoes who keep the curtains closed. And you are right, of course Rgds, Jos.
