At Baselworld two years ago, Philippe Dufour mentioned Ermel
as one of the highlights of the show. In that year John Ermel only had a clock on display, it had a square face and the hour and minute hands retracted in and outwards as the time progressed. I hope to see a square faced Ermel wristwatch, that would be interesting. I like idea of the retracting hand, but his designs are not my cup of tea.

That hour mechanism is fascinating. Spent some time on the Cyclos website staring at it. Though, to be a pedant, the tip of the hour hand follows the spiral, the dial is just 2 offset circles.
Even more pedantly, one wonder what the use is...
... unless it's meant for use in Earth orbit, you really only need a 24hr indicator for a watch that shows a timezone elsewhere. It's a lovely complication but one would like to see a GMT hand doing that, rather than the hometime hand. Next model, maybe? ...

I was taking too narrow a view. If I read you correctly, Cyclos' target group does not only consist of astronauts but also of submariners, jaded collectors, and couch potatoes who keep the curtains closed. And you are right, of course Rgds, Jos.
