Horological Meandering

JEANRICHARD 1681 Central Second Big Case.

Some explanations, first, before discussing this Watch.

- 1681: This is the year Daniel JEANRICHARD completed his first Watch, and it is said to be the first Watch in Swizerland!

- Central seconds, because a version with small seocnds is available, too.

- Big case: I called it big, because there is another case, a round shaped one which is 41 mm big, while the one we are discussing is 44 mm big, and reminds me the cushion shaped Rolex / Panerai from the Mid Thirties.

Curiously, I had to re read twice, as in the real, the Watch looks much smaller. Good point.

The round bezel contrasts very nicely with the cushion case, offering some originality and elegance to this Watch.

The JR movement is in house, and offers a 48 hours power reserve. Which is enough.

Besides the case, there is another part I loved a lot, the blue dial... Despite this date, which ruins a bit the appeal a,d the purity of the dial, in my opinion. But I am well known to be a radical anti date guy.

One precision you will not see, as I was a bit short in time, but this Watch has a sapphire case back.

Here is the only picture I took, of the blue dialed version, which is pretty appealing, I find.

How do you feel it?

Best,

Nicolas
