Introducing little princess to mechanical watches
Dear friends,
I had a little talk with my little princess about watches after I suprised her stealing queen's one.
In the past I used to put my watch on her ear and let her listen timepiece's heart beating.... and now she told me she'd like to wear one, but not a quartz because she loves to hear it ticking!
But not a manual wound one since she already told me she'll be bored to wind it up every day.
Next month she'll be 8, I'm then trying to find a reliable self winding watch for her,
Ideally it would be waterproof and around 34mm in diameter (like the Rendez-Vous in the pics).
I'm also considering the price issue, since it can be "destroyed" and, more important, we don't want to "show off" to other kids, or even worse, to their parents.
Waiting for your advice, let me share the mandatory wrist shot!

You can find lot of vintage omega automatic in steel but, even that is maybe a to precious daily beater for a 8 years old young lady. BTW you can also check old longines and Lip. Or you can go for an accessory watch with a miyota like this one for under 1...
Here are a few vintage ideas.

This is actually the first watch I thought of for her, but as far as I can see, I found only 42mm watches, too big for her wrist.
I'm also considering, even if a little too big, Hamilton Khaki Field and Seiko 5, but I have doubts on the accuracy of the last one (otherwise it'd be the right one). Best, Max
