Objectively, what we have is a 5 figure watch with pixel art. Sure, that style is en vogue today with a specific demographic, but how will this look in 5 or 15 years? I guess Moser only needed to find 20 people...
And if the "point" is that the hours are erased, it is extremely poorly conveyed - as in typical Moser style - but the hour hand is indeed still there. Nothing has been "erased". The minutes and seconds are also "erased". Why not make a watch with no hands at all (or wait...)
Moser is a brand I just can't get behind. I want to like them, but I feel like most everything they do is just clumsy, misguided kitsch thinly veiled as imaginative narrative or creativity. Everything they do feels steeped in hipster arrogance. If the brand was personified, it would be a 22 year old who drives a leased BMW, wears a Burberry plaid shirt they got an outlet mall and constantly told you how smart and successful he is with his "business" and "building the brand that is him" - a self proclaimed influencer with 1000 followers - all while having a green Starbucks smock tucked under the seat and an unread text message from Dad saying, "Okay, but this is the last time we will pay off your credit card for you..."
They pretend to be Andy Warhol but are really Lieberman's.
I get faking it until you make it but, to me, ironically, they have established themselves as the most trite brand around.
I suspect a Zelda sword, or any other Nintendo property wasn't an option due to licensing.
