i like them.
i have 2 vintage handwind Grand Seiko's and 1 kind seiko. i also have a tokyo olympics 1 button chrono and a 66A calibre handwind also from 1964. i've owned a new GS GMT and am sort of looking for a modern handwind. they are great watches and very underrated. seiko 5's are pretty bomb proof and last for years. so good that i bought my 14 year old son one.

I have the same model as Rei but in white dial. Got it from Hong Kong in 2009 and it is really keeping very good time. It does not feel cheap at all and i look forward to see the new Hi-Beat in flesh.

in regards to the GSs. I have the SBGM003 and just love it. I wear it more than any other piece, even more than my Patek. The craftsmanship will rival most high-end manufacturers, Swiss or other wise. Do post some pictures! Aloha, Bob
