I think many of the Heitage watches seem to have been manufactured with cases around the 38mm mark, which should at least mean they are not garishly large. This is my favourite so far although a 33mm original is much more preferable! Always a pleasure to ...

Longines has really done a great job with their heritage pieces Matt

Some of their small decisions I haven't quite enjoyed (the faux spotting on the 6B/159 reissue for example), but as a whole they have been quite faithful whilst tapping into the modern market, namely upsizing to current tastes. Baruch

Would like to see a comparison to the heritage military. They seem quite similar on first look.

Le Coultre/JLC issued watches always had that extra level of design elegance to them. Hopefully much more education to come on the Ebel. Now you have prompted me to put together what I have until now including my unanswered questions.

It seems toned down compared to a similar release from last year which was noticeably speckled. This version has that too but doesn't look as prominent.

38.5mm is one of my favorite sizes to wear, and apparently it has a 64 hours power reserve. Really like the case shape and crown, which make me think of the IWC Mark XI. I wonder what the water resistance will be. I hope that if they are going to use the ... 

But if they are going to do a bigger, more modern reinterpretation, they might as well give it a decent water resistance.

This fauxtina is really unique. Was the original version radium?

In this case, I believe the aged dial works ok too. Even though it is psychologically a little weird. Next up - a banged up case maybe?

I am not a fan however of these faux aged dials (same with faux lumina ...).

IMO Longines are doing some great things with their re-issues. All sympathetically/ tastefully done.

It would also make me buy my first Longines, provided that the case is sufficiently 1930s/1940s Calatrava-like and somewhere in the 39-40mm range.
