I have absolutely no practical use for them.
However, like them a lot. Not all of them though, but only those with beautiful movements and transparent backs to see them. Lange, Montblanc Minerva, Lemania 2310 would be perfect examples.
Otherwise - I guess people like their sportier look, but hardly ever use the function.

Occasional real use so guess mostly for the cool then?
Not like any mechanical watch in this day and age is really very good at its job compared to very cheap alternatives Still like them though so whatever the heart wants i guess.

I rarely use the chronograph on my nice watches.
Just like the way they look. I run them occasionally just to get everything moving. Having learned that they are more expensive and difficult to service the Purists 25th chronograph will probably be my last one.
