Maybe right now with COVID, and difficulty with shipping companies it’s more problematic to promise a watch within a short time frame. But unless you are a one man brand, or brand new to making and selling a watch, or your whole model is to make custom pieces, a company should be able to give a fairly accurate outside date for delivery.
You know how many watchmakers you have; you know your plan for who makes which models and how many that person can make in a given time; and how many orders you have.
