I actually tend to agree on the points both of you are making, as in general it's good if a brand like Patek expands its customer base, even when this may bring to uncharted territory...
I would have no big issue with these rappers or anybody else "showing off" their money or success, if obtained by honest means (in the sense that, right or wrong that this may be, it would remain their choice)... But what I found ridiculous here is that they don't even realize the only thing they end up showing off is a complete lack of taste -- not to mention the urge to destroy some beautiful Pateks!
Honestly, I would have an even worse impression should an investment banker be spotted wearing any of those Frankensteins, given the higher level of education/sophistication that I generally expect from the banker ;-) Cheers.

I think this AD is just trying to see how far he can push it, similarly to what he's probably been doing successfully for the last several years.
To be quite frank, for as long as people don't report these ADs and get their licensed revoked, this practice is going to continue (and escalate) forever, at the expenses of real collectors ;-)

For example, JLC Reverso classic medium size they give me price USD 6100 after discount. I just called an AD at Bangkok airport, they will sell to me USD 5400....so much for a "good relationship" with my AD.
