I've never heard this term in the last 40 years
I've been writing about watches for the last 40 years and I am certain that I have never heard this expression - and especially at the Basel fair. An automatic is just that, an automatic or self-winding watch. If it has to be wound manually, then it is not automatic in any sense. I really believe you should demand your money back - and lodge an official complaint with eBay if you don't get it! IMHO, this is either fraud or ignorance.
