Just one suggestion on the canvass strap - maybe you already tried this not sure. I believe these have metal loops that you hook the tail end of the strap through with the velcro on it - did you try looping through the part of the steel loop closest to the watch head?
Sorry it's hard to describe without using photos but you can effectively shorten the strap by looping it in the "wrong" place if you follow me.

Thank you so much for the positive feedback. If I still owned the watch, I would definitely order a shorter strap somehow. Loved the watch but couldn't keep it because it got in the way when I held my baby.
