Gary, I would say again an iconic post
Even though I am late to respond, it was great following this thread over the last few days.
Maybe you did not intend your thoughts to be "revealing," but I think you can tell you struck a chord with a lot of us obsessive collectors. Even as outstanding a collector as yourself goes through the same internal struggles in regard to your big-picture strategy of watch collecting/upgrading, then to sell one beloved piece to help capture another. It has been such a pleasure following your journey here in the on-line world and in the real world. Lately you have been the man in regard to your passionate (yet objective) reviews of some recent acquisitions, and this thread sort of takes a step back and pulls it all together.
Congratulations to you for your wonderful collection, and thank you for sharing your journey with us. There is so much more to watch collecting than watches, and sometimes without really intending you bring out those wonderful (and sometimes even agonizing.....) hidden aspects in your posts.
You are the point where you can focus on acquiring a few "grail" pieces to enhance your collection. (We both know it can never be totally complete.....) Seems we are all the luckier when you obtain one of your dream watches.
Thank you for your passion and friendship.
