Horological Meandering

I am trying to choose between two watches: A Felipe Pikullik Classic: and an H. Moser & Cie Vantablack: Thoughts? I have *some* views of my own - clearly - but am interested in the opinions of people on here… I am not unduly swayed by manual vs automatic ...

I had him make me a custom watch a long time ago. He designed this with some input from me and it came out amazingly. THEN I VERY STUPIDLY SOLD IT. I was very specific about dial texture, the numerals, the colors…he nailed it all. I will be ordering from ...  

as the brand is still priced reasonably as it is not as well known as Moser. The quality is astounding for the price.

If you can get the FP with an unadorned dial - then it makes the choice a whole lot harder. Go for the one that makes you happiest Cheers JML

To be clear: the idea at this stage would be to choose between these two specific pieces (so no alterations allowed, at least in the short term). I agree that a completely unadorned dial is part of the appeal on the Moser - but the FP one is only slightly...

Can you elaborate? Both are similarly-sized steel watches with great mechanisms/finishing (it’s not at all clear that Moser wins on finishing incidentally - I would give that to FP - though Moser’s are fully in-house whereas FP’s are ETA ebauches). Moser ... 

Nothing wrong with an ETA but I want to see more than just some extra finishing Yes it’s very well done but imo nowadays there are too many independents that just put some extra anglage and some inward angles on the movement. That’s nice but I appreciate ...

I am from Berlin, so the FP is a hometown hero story for me. I like supporting young entrepreneurs as well, so that all makes it a very compelling story for me. The Moser is a slightly more elegant watch, and the Vantablack / Anish Kapoor appeals to me as...

the FP is perhaps more exclusive? It has a beautiful movement and the hands have a lovely look to my eyes. The FP logo on the dial is a slight distraction . The Moser Vantablack is so luscious deep and distinctive, my only issue is legibility, I might str...
