i cant remember the name, but it has 7 mainsprings in cylindrical form and 30+ day power reserve. looks a bit like the Cabestan. that deserves to be made by someone other than Jacob & co so that it doesnt get a bad rep.
if my first post was a bit defensive i apologise profusely. we're entitled to dislike whatever we like. the rest of your list i agree with wholeheartedly.
anyway, my 5.
1. anything by romaine Jerome. stupid and pointless
2. Rolex Daytona in Platinum with diamond encrusted dial, case and bracelet(that goes for any diamond encrusted Rolex)
3. anything by panerai with a Unitas/soprod movement in it which has been renamed with a Pam caliber to fool people into thinking it is good so they can charge far more than its worth.
4. Rolex Submariner in YG with YG bracelet. i dont mind the watch in steel, but gold changes it from a tool to a fashion accessory.
5. difficult, but it must be all the quartz bling rubbish from jacob & co.
you can probably tell that i dont like bling watches
how about things that annoy us most from the watch industry?
the number one for me is HONESTY.
this relates to #3 above. why cant manufacturers be honest about the movements they use. instead of having an Oris 633 why cant they call it a 'modified Valjoux 7750', same goes for IWC. call it a 'highly modified V7750'. Panerai. call it a 'modified and improved(?) Unitas handwind movement.
thats my biggest bug bear about the industry. there is no shame in calling a spade a spade. i for one would appreciate the honesty and respect them for it.
thats better, i can go back into relaxed and genial mode now.
best
Graham
