Actually you are on the right track.. it is a “safety latch” of some sort 😉

It's the switch on the back of the URWERK 202 that controls the rate that the turbines spin (there are 3 settings - Free, Sport, and Stop). I'm a huge URWERK fan and I'm quite embarrassed that it took me this long to work it out, LOL.

You were spending a lot of your time in a vain attempt to find a picture of a potato masher with the same profile and an RM on it.
