Horological Meandering

Benrus Type I Class A original and reissue.

Just thought i would share a couple shots comparing the Original Benrus Type I to the te edition of 2020.

On the surface a very true representation of the original considering they no longer have the same materials available to reproduce the dial and possibly the bakelite style bezel.

Forty two years separate this pair.

Enjoy

Benrus Type I original has a tritium Markers vs reedition.

Very similar profile

Original on the bottom with the orange dimple in the crown

Reproduction bezel is the typical indented metal insert with painted numerals

The original bezel is a plastic insert with the luminus number cast under the flat bakelite surface

Original case markings with the reissue.

And some authentic rust. Seems like the nato strap reacted badly.

Benrus Type I and Type II family shot.
