I find the Haldimann H9 still challenges me. On an intellectual level I try to justify it -- maybe it's the ultimate poetic complication (your imagining of the time display adds the "poetry"), maybe it's a watch that takes advantage of the sonic properties of a time only display (you can hear the watch ticking but can't see the time), maybe it's a watch that takes stealthiness to a new level, maybe it's a watch that is a political statement on the state of watches today. I don't know. Mostly, I'm disappointed that I cannot see Beat Haldimann's beautiful work underneath that accursed black crystal. :-(
