Another GP neo-vintage hidden gem … Panerai.

Say what? 😮

We talked about rare. We talked about value.

Did you know that Girard-Perregaux provided the GMT Alarm movements to the 42 mm Panerai PAM 00098?

Both are nice.

Personally, I prefer the GP version in 38 mm. The Traveler II ref 4940. ❤️ Superb size.

Both using the same GP calibre 2291. 😮

I especially love the GPs with the Breguet applied numbers. Both the salmon and the black dial. The salmon is especially rare as only 150 pieces made.

I looked up the PAM 00098 and the GP 4940 on chrono24. Wow … Quite interesting price variance between the two models. See the value?

Here is a review by Tim of the Panerai:

Yes AS 5008 as the ebauche and heavily modified by GP

After modifications, GP calls it the GP cal 2291 (225-917) or also called the GP cal 59 The panerai uses the GP cal 2291

Gosh look at the price asked in Singapore Dollars

GP is so undervalued IMHO

Evidently more than one PAM

 By: SingaporeMarc : May 23rd, 2024-15:29
uses the GP cal 59 So to get back to the main point … I think the GP ref 4940 is undervalued right now. 😄 ...

Also the PAM00355

I just looked it up. I see the GP 4940 so be such a wonderful timepiece and such good value relative to other choices. Naturally I am biased because I love GP but the the objective truth is in what see in the prices on the secondary market. No offence mea...
