Most men's watches from the middle of the last century . . .
. . . ranged from 33 to 36 mm, with 34 probably being the median.
My grandfather was such a big watch guy that he procured a prototype Longines dive watch for my dad in the fifties.
Dad was an early scuba diver. He and my mom made their own wetsuits and made a lot of dives in Marblehead, MA. I have the watch but it was ruined before I got it.
