Horological Meandering

After some wrist time with the Mark XVIII (Tribute to Mark XI)

 

I wonder why there was so much (online) bashing about this IWC release. I actually like it a lot, it’s fun to wear:




The long hands are really nice and even the date window is not an issue to me. With the black background it doesn’t stick out as it does on my Mark XII.



The movement is not in-house OK, but this isn’t a deal breaker for me in a tool watch. By the way, it hacks.

And yes, it’s closer to the Mark XII and XV, but who cares. No nitpicking here:

Both are nice, but for the moment I kinda like to wear the Mark XVIII...
