Jaeger-LeCoultre: Not sure, as I haven’t seen the SS version, but

mine also shows a pitch black dial under normal light…

Jaeger-LeCoultre: Another hidden feature of this Polaris is how the dial changes

with light. It usually looks black on photos, but may reveal hidden beauties under the right light… Cheers Uri

Jaeger-LeCoultre: Just a quick note from an owner of the platinum version:

The weight and density of the platinum guarantee very lovely wrist time. I wear mine a lot. If you find one, go for it. Best Uri

F.P. Journe: The freewheeling dial overflow

on the right side...in contrast to the rather disciplined strong hour markers... and above all a truly original dial layout... probably won’t take it off for some time... Best Uri

F.P. Journe: That’s a good point, Jay. But I always wind with the strap on as I use an old style one w/o the quick release.

But even with a new style strap I‘d rather not take it off for winding. ZERO SNAP BACK method in combination with a piece of cloth as a „thumpguard“ maybe is the silver bullet for winding our Resonances? Cheers Uri
