A crime. A shame. A horological disaster/emergency. To be caught without a watch. Turn around and immediately go home or to the nearest AD and correct the horological faux pas.
There can be no blame ascribed but there must be correction immediately.
I do agree that it is not wise to keep a watch in the car. When the sun is out the interior temperature could escalate and could cook the watch esp the oil in it. Not to mention the issue of security. Even in jest not a great idea.
That's why I keep telling my wife I need to buy another watch.
Forgot to put a watch on today in a rush to get the toddler to childcare. Hate it when this happens. I should get an "emergency car watch" stored in the glovebox. Have a good week ppl!...
Suggestion
Throw a smart watch in your glovebox. This will firstly make you never forget a real watch anymore and secondly make you happy if someone broke into your car. Win win situation if you\'d ask me ;-)

I think the rest of us have our priorities in place.
Put the watch on, then the pants (skirts or dresses for ladies) when getting dressed. Not sure how the order was muddled up here.
For me at present it's more like:
- 1) Nappy needs changing (not on myself, mind you). Decision - watch on or off? (Decided "off" re potential contamination 2) give child breakfast. Decision - watch on or off? (Decided "off" re potential contamination with porridge. 3) Rush out the door. ...

When I was young and not wise about the horological marvels about me I would see going watchless as a true sign of escaping and relaxing from the time pressures of the week. Now no longer. Rather the weekend is defined by wearing watches that
I don\'t wear during the week either because they are too sporty or too special and dear to chance them at work. Every watch does have its place and its role so that the weekend watches do signify escape and separation from work.
