One 3 hand, on that

Oct 29, 2011,04:09 AM

hasn't had a 2nd hand made for it...

Though the final version won't have a 2nd hand in the centre anyway, just a running type indicator ;-)

If you had to pick your favorite three hand watch what would it be? It could one you own or admire. Post pics if u can.

Stephen, If ever a watch lived up to Leonardo da Vinci’s (& Apples) philosophy, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication” it has to be your ALS (or the PP3939). The 3 favourites in my collection are my Favre Leuba Sea King I got at...

I had the opportunity to sit with Kari in his atelier while he showed me a variety of dials and inserted them into a RG case so I could see exactly what they looked like. At the end of the day, I'm really happy with the choices that he helped me to make! ...

 By: kevincosta85 : October 27th, 2011-20:39
For some unknown reason I've been digging the Rolex Explorer lately which is weird because, I like other models more.

A slight variation.

For me it would be my Sub and my Milgauss GV. Both easy to wear on all occasions. Best regards, George

I left & came back to this watch 3 times. The blue adds a casual touch combined w/ high water resistance & a simple case design w/ my fav, turned lugs. All save 1 of my watches are 3 handers. I just don't have a draw to high complications, though ...

Here's hoping . . .

 By: grigo : October 27th, 2011-23:40

Nobody's perfect.

 By: amanico : October 27th, 2011-23:42

When it comes to Observatoire...

 By: KIH : October 28th, 2011-18:05
.. all examples are piece unique, more or less, as it was created by the owner's combination choices. This one in the photo is PT case and black dial is unique, I heard. Other than the case and dial, this example is a standard one Ken

Hi Kevin... I have quite extensive wearing experience

 By: CL : October 29th, 2011-08:03
with both 34mm version and 37mm version. My first love of Simplicity is the design with the rail in the middle of of the watch with a crown that seems oversize. It looks very classical and filled with a nice tension. It's the 34 mm version but I didn't kn...

 By: Mostel : October 29th, 2011-10:12

Agree with your points.....

 By: CL : October 29th, 2011-11:05
I won't regret even if I didn't get the 34mm one. I like the 37mm very much too Both are EQUALLY nice and the winding experience is just simply superb, 2 watches I have tried have that same feeling. A Patek ref 96 and the Laurent Ferrier Tourbillon. *CL

For winding experience

 By: tahoeblue : October 30th, 2011-11:05
try the RL PLM. Unsurpassed IMHO. But the Dufour is certainly extremely nice. Interestingly of the watches we have been discussing, the Observatoire is not as satisfying--too much resistance, especially as approaching full wind.

Hi Bart...I have wind the RL PLM before,

 By: CL : October 30th, 2011-12:59
similar to the original PLM tourbillon, nothing special about it though. I wonder what exactly is the nice experience you are referring to, can you direct to me? I may have missed out something. Just so you know, I don't quite enjoy winding Dato as well. ...

Excellent observations CL

Unique ,nonetheless!

One 3 hand, on that

By: Tom the Tinkerer : October 29th, 2011-04:09
hasn't had a 2nd hand made for it... Though the final version won't have a 2nd hand in the centre anyway, just a running type indicator ;-) Omega 30mm A2 with Bas & Lokes Strap...

Nevertheless, a great share!

We are truly not worthy!

KV Masterpiece #8!!! Now that's what I call a "nice 3-hand watch," Allen! Not only is it one of Kari's very few decimal repeaters, as you know extremely well it is the design progenitor (especially with regard to dial design) to Kari's landmark Observatoi...

Beautiful watch Allen!

 By: eloise : October 29th, 2011-17:06
I love the way the blued hands (all three of them) stand out on the face of that KV!

Of them all, THIS is the 1...nt [nt]
