Some actual photos of the pre-production reissue. Case is 38.5mm. Images courtesy of Time+Tide Watches (they have a longer article about the watch). Regards, Baruch ...

I agree about the case size.

I think many of the Heitage watches seem to have been manufactured with cases around the 38mm mark, which should at least mean they are not garishly large. This is my favourite so far although a 33mm original is much more preferable! Always a pleasure to ...

A bit too many... [nt]

Longines has really done a great job with their heritage pieces Matt

I agree Matt.

Some of their small decisions I haven't quite enjoyed (the faux spotting on the 6B/159 reissue for example), but as a whole they have been quite faithful whilst tapping into the modern market, namely upsizing to current tastes. Baruch

Wonderful watch! Amazing, actually.

Would like to see a comparison to the heritage military. They seem quite similar on first look.

Here you go Reuven.

Both photos courtesy Time + Tide watches ...

I like the history from the 1st one a bit more

The design of the MN is a bit better, indeed.

Haha, i might prefer the MN if i knew

Some background informations about the situations it has been used in.

I have an Ebel 6B/159 from 1942 so I have a watch with real spotting!

Thanks in advance. [nt]

Wow, first time I see this one. Thanks for the education.

Here is another one, which is close to yours. ... In good company... ...

A very happy family indeed!

Le Coultre/JLC issued watches always had that extra level of design elegance to them. Hopefully much more education to come on the Ebel. Now you have prompted me to put together what I have until now including my unanswered questions.

Thank you!!! [nt]

I'm buying one.

Looks it to me.

It seems toned down compared to a similar release from last year which was noticeably speckled. This version has that too but doesn't look as prominent.

I like this a lot

38.5mm is one of my favorite sizes to wear, and apparently it has a 64 hours power reserve. Really like the case shape and crown, which make me think of the IWC Mark XI. I wonder what the water resistance will be. I hope that if they are going to use the ...

I know

But if they are going to do a bigger, more modern reinterpretation, they might as well give it a decent water resistance.

Nice piece

This fauxtina is really unique. Was the original version radium?

Yes, Sir.

Thanks

In this case, I believe the aged dial works ok too. Even though it is psychologically a little weird. Next up - a banged up case maybe?

Good looking for sure.

I am not a fan however of these faux aged dials (same with faux lumina ...).

Smashed it

IMO Longines are doing some great things with their re-issues. All sympathetically/ tastefully done.

Absolutely stunning !

Nice heritage

Typical an army watch. I must get used to it, always seeing and wear shiny glitter watches 🌞 Made my father happy with my old Seiko F1 Honda team. Surprise he start to wear it more. When he is ready, i want to give him an automatic. Downside of his Seiko,...

Thanks for sharing the pics

That would be splendid!

 By: LX (Alex) : July 19th, 2020-11:02
It would also make me buy my first Longines, provided that the case is sufficiently 1930s/1940s Calatrava-like and somewhere in the 39-40mm range.

It’s lovely

Just a one second glance, and I wanna look again. Guys will always be guys.
