Tony was the master of 440V steel. Not even the most recent “super” steels can keep an edge like Tony’s 440V steel. The combination of heat treating and bevel make those blades unique.
At one point we had twenty deer from a farm to dress. The better knives would require a strop or ceramic sticks after one or two deer. A 400V fixed blade from the Old Dawg would do seven and even nine separating the skin from the muscle like a razor. Tony...
