Baltic company and Watch

About the Baltic Watch Company and a Baltic Watch.

Baltic is a French company based in Paris, started in 2016, said to sell 15,000 watches a year with 10 Employees. The “Baltic” name is associated with the father of the founder who had a connection to Poland and the Baltic region.

Baltic stores are in Paris, New York, and London. Watches have a 2 year warranty.

The company uses watch movements from Japan and China that are examined, tested, and adjusted in France.

The example shown here is the MR Classic, Salmon face, 36mm size, 20mm lugs. (MR=Micro Rotor.). Very reasonably priced.

MR’s are also available with a Dark Blue or Silver dial. The dials have a crepe or pebble texture.

The Salmon MR: Applied Steel Arabic hour numbers in Breguet Classic style. Leaf Hands (Feuille) for Hours and Minutes. Sub Seconds dial w/o numbers, sweep Seconds hand. Unsigned Stem Winder. No Lume. Other side has a view of the movement.

Fitted with Quick Release Calf Leather band in “Lion”. Can choose other leather or rubber bands or a steel bracelet. The leather bands are unlined, thinner and more flexible. Leather bands have a Steel signed Pin Buckle.

The MR series is driven by the Hangzhou Caliber 5000A Micro Rotor Automatic.

Some work on the movement (I call Cotes de Chine) is likely machine made only. The “Blued” screws are painted (not heated) according to the Baltic Store. 30 Jewels, 28800 VPH. Accuracy is about +-10 seconds a day. Power Reserve 42 hours…water resist only to 30 mtrs.

The two crystals are Hesalite…resistant to cracking but prone to minor scratches removed with toothpaste, jewelers rouge, Polywatch. Hesalite is an Acrylic form of Plexiglass. It is used on some Omega Speedmasters and other mostly retro design watches.

Thanks for looking.
