Independent commissions
To piggyback on Hussam’s earlier post about anOrdain, there was a couple of lower key independent releases today. The difference is that these independent collaborations, or more accurately commissions, were initiated by Perpetuel, a niche boutique in Dubai. One set of commissioned watches was from Baltic and the other Hoffman. The occasion is the 50th Anniversary of UAE.
The Baltic pieces look similar to a previous commissioned release with the exception of a new Aquascaphe GMT and the fact that these pieces are titanium, which is a cool little twist. The Hoffman chrono is manual wind mechanical (as opposed to mechaquartz) and similar to their usual site offerings with the exception of the Eastern Arabic numerals used throughout.
While these independents are not on the level of the other independents we are used to sharing and discussing, I am intrigued the most by Baltic given the success of their recent release which showcases their talent for vintage aesthetics IMHO.
