Agree with your thoughts. Mine is used now with a non factory straps after changing the originals several times. Battery life was another issue considering they need three.
Last year I got the new version to make company to my first one. It is very new to know the life of the new straps which I find very stiff and also to know its (now only battery) life span. But it´s looks is very similar to the first version which I used ...

Thank you for your answer dear Simone. I understand you. I also don´t take risks with vintage pieces even if they passed the pressure tests. They are too valuable to risk them in flooding.
