tried on the RG model with a funky brown runbber strap a few hours
ago and found it was a damn fine watch.
If I actually had to make the choice (which I am in the process of making 
) I would go for the WG model just because it has a more sporty look and at 45mm I prefer to have a more sporty look

The divergence from platinum to a new metal such as Zalium for this watch in its gestation must first be taken into account. Historically, the first Oceans from HWRT were platinum. Taking this into account, I would go for the RG. As it would be "logical" ...
Mix and match
I went ahead with a third choice: Red Gold on a rubber strap (perhaps due to wrist time with my RG Offshore). The boutique in Las Vegas was very pleasant to deal with and accommodating.

I will try and take some pictures of the RG/rubber strap combo later this week. With regards to the "bling" factor, I wear a watch because I like it. I don't worry too much about what fashion dictates .
