Hi Graham,
I'm pleased you like your new Nomos.
I have three and like them all - two Tangomats and one Orion. Four if you count the 'sun-dial' - have you seen this?
I also got my girlfriend a Wempe limited edition Tangente which has a nice day/night indicator.
I've found all mine to be very accurate.
I'm currently waiting to see the new Zurich.
There have been other posts about how 'in house' their movements are. I know the automatic was largely designed by Mirko Heyne, formerly of Lange & Heyne, who now works at Nomos. He also worked at Lange & Sohne for his apprenticeship I think.
Nomos also ,ake the movements for some of the Wempe watches, including their tourbillon.
On their website, which you must have a look (e-mail me of you need the link) at for the shots of the factory, their philosophy etc, they claim 95% is now made in house I think.
For some reason I would'nt have thought these were 'up your street' but am very happy to share such good taste with you.
All the best,
Vernon.
PS - hope you're fighting through the snow ok.
