It is about temperature
When I wrote about "the atmospheric conditions within an airplane" I was not quite sure what kind of conditions NOMOS had been referring to. Now I found it again:
In the FAQ on the NOMOS web site they say:
" 25. My Shell Cordovan now has some ugly white spots. What does this mean?
If your strap was subjected to great changes in temperature it
occasionally looks powdered afterwards. That is only grease that seeped
from the material and can be easily polished away with a soft cloth. "
Depending on the treatment of the surface this might apply to other Shell Cordovan straps also.
Best regards,
Martin
Thanks, Daos . . .
