I tried on both models...
and the 39,5mm version is captivating
It of course depends on your wrist size...
But the 39,5 model is quite thin and sits very comfortably on the wrist
The larger model is quite beautiful too but I am not quite certain about the big date- top caliber though

I see your point too. That trident is nice. I know it wouldn't help with thickness but there used to be a "Ball Watches - Magneto" that had an iris mechanism. Imagine one of those where you could have both the trident and the ability to view the movement!...
