I know exactly what you mean about the different

 

dial appearances based on lighting.  I have a white metal panomatic lunar XL discontinued model, which I did buy online, and I thought I was getting a watch with a white dial based on the pictures, although the description did say the dial was silver.  The dial was indeed silver, which looked quite different than the pictures.  I thought the silver dial looked just as good, and I like the fact that the dial can look so different in different lighting conditions, as stated by others.  This dial does not have any beige color in any light like you describe with the new panomatic lunar.  I think you should love just about everything about a watch like this when considering buying it, so if the dial isn't right I would pass.  It may grow on you but it would suck to find out you still don't like it after having it for 6-12 months.  Whatever decision you make is the right one smile

. . . of a rose gold model. There is a difference between the color of the dial and the date disc background. The materials used respectively are inherently different. Whether the effect produced is objectionable or not would be a matter of personal judge...  

obviously its all subjective to the wearer, but.....

that watch looks stunning, absolutely beautiful, and I love the cream/ivory colour on the dial, it gives it a warmth.... I realise your point that its not what you were expecting but..... I love it....

It is a REALLY beautiful watch. I'm going back to the AD this weekend to take another look at the watch, hopefully under different light conditions. I haven't been able to stop thinking about the watch since I saw it last weekend...I think that's saying s...

Hey Watch Seeker, I understand your beef with the "off-color" of the dial of the PanoMaticLunar (PML). I was in the exact same position as you: I initially did a ton of research on various watches online and fell in love with this watch based on the photo...

No joke, I am astounded by the current precision of my PML! I should, however, further elaborate on my previous post. Upon reflection, a more accurate statement would be that the watch has gained only about 2 seconds over a period of 5 weeks--rather than ...

Hey Cubancigar, Thanks for the post. Sounds like we're really on the same wavelength...you basically just regurgitated my experience over the past 2 months. The changing colors of the dial face in different lighting is interesting...as if the "warm silver...
