Dear Blomman,
a few days ago I've visited the GP website, searching information exactly about the Laureato: I wanted to update my memory about this family of watches, that I find very important for GP. Unfortunately, I was disappointed, because I couldn't find no one Laureato!!! Well, how it could happen that someone in GP decided to keep out the Laureato from the current collections? Moreover, I'm sorry but I must say I've found the website a bit sad. And I've just re-visited it: nothing has changed, since the last news is from October 30th… I think something must be improved.
That said, I'd like to express my biggest WELCOME to the new Laureato!!! I find this new proposal aesthetically appealing and I'm happy they've decided to reduce the size to a more proper 41 mm. Indeed, I think that uselessly spreading the diameter to 44 mm. - like it has been done with the Laureato EVO3 - means definitely to lose the natural elegance of the Laureato's design.
Now, I have some question for you:
1. What about the caliber GP03300-0030? Its diameter is different from the GP03300 (25,60 mm. vs. 26,20). Do you have more information?
2. How it looks the back? Do you have any pictures?
3. Its water-resistance really is only 30 meters? Like a Swatch? I hope someone have done a mistake writing the press infos.
4. About the extraordinary Laureato Tourbillon with Three Sapphire Bridges: will we have a new one? I strongly hope so.
5. The Laureato Equation du Temps, from 1984, made me curious: where’s the astronomical display?
Please, forgive me if I was a bit severe. You know, sometimes watch lovers tends to pretend too much and moreover we Italians are quite fond on GP, because of the man that once managed the brand, the dear departed Gino Macaluso.
Ciao,
Elio
