I personally feel you are being a bit harsh on GP. Especially on those from the 90s, like the Chronograph I introduced here. I don't think the movement is small for a 36mm case and while it is modular, it remains an overall great design.
As refreshing the movements in the current collection, I do agree and this is something GP has realised as well, but it does take time to develop a new workhorse automatic movement. But let's not forget, GP already now has the larger GP 4500 and also think of the new developed movements you can find for example in the Neo-Bridges. Those are certainly up-to-date.
