Regulated my 80188 Laureato quartz

Recently acquired an 80188 like @SingaporeMarc 


After enjoying it for about a month, I found that it was running a bit slow. Probably due to the warmer climate here.

Therefore, after taking a deep breath, I opened the caseback and regulated the cal. 13500 using (what I guessed to be) the trimmer screw (in red circle).

I can now confirm that counterclockwise=faster, hence the arrow engraving.

After regulation: gaining around 0.044 s/day, unworn

Wearing it will tend to slow it down, therefore even closer to the zero average rate.

Almost all early quartz, and a few high end calibers now...

such as the GS 9F, can be field regulated like this, but sadly not the majority of new quartz. Some are because the regulation is digital and meant to be done by the authorized service centers only. For example, The Citizen HAQ and Credor 8J. But the majo...

Glad to see another 80188 with an avid collector. This information of regulation will be of benefit to many to appreciate the difference between a high-quartz and the more pedestrian types. Just like mechanical, there is a range and GP was the original Sw...
