I managed to find a watch maker who was authorised for Omega and Zenith to take a look at the GP

In the end, the watch maker solved its issues and presumably there were no parts required, as the watch circa 2010 and not heavily worn, so you might get away without the full Geneva experience, even if that is less reassuring than the real deal? The watch even water tested better than the official specs!
