I just got this Vintage 1999 chronograph today.
Last watch before the new year. This one replaces a steel ‘99 I had and sold a few years ago. (Brauner, Nicolas-I know how you feel). This is just about the perfect watch. GP has always been excellent with their casework but in my mind the 1999 and 1945 Art Deco styling and solid cases are the best they do.
There is one issue with this watch:the minute and hour hands seem to suffer from some corrosion or scraping.
Any thoughts on the cause of this; and what can/should be done about it?

BTW, the corrosion...
Assuming this is red gold, is usually caused by the copper corroding from within. At least that's what I have read somewhere. I also see some of it on the numbers, especially the 8.

How does it wear on a small wrist ? Because of you all I’m starting to think I should own one too, since I was already in love with this model when I was in high school ! would feel nice to see one in my collection ))
Nice watch. You can send it to Baca Raton in Florida and they can change out the hands if you want. The GP and Ulysse Nardin office/repair is the same location.

What I still own is this simple 3 hand GP.
