Girard Perregaux 1966 Chronograph, Blue.

Two reworked pictures of one of these nice Girard Perregaux, the 1966 Chronograph.

The case has a good size for me, 40 mm. The dial is eye catching. Centered, the sub dials? Yes. But it adds to the charm of this watch. The leaf hands? The cherry on the cake.

The only problem, for me, the automatic movement, too small, and well, not that interesting to see...

A solid case back would have been welcomed.

But, all in all, a lovely modern Girard Perregaux.

Best,

Nicolas

An absolutely charming watch, really quite appealing on the front side, if and only if you can do with the disappointing back side. Why didn't they simply put a solid case back to solve the (at least visual) problem?

that’s awesome! [nt]

There is a problem though... at a glance it is continually mistaken for a Patek... plat 5070... many may see it for what it is... a beautiful luxury watch... but it has this 'visual problem' for seasoned collectors... on the other hand... wearing it out i...

The VC Patrimony Chrono and the 1858 Tachymeter from MB can have this very same issue, too, and we could mention a lot of examples of watches looking like other watches, my friend.

But who cares... Per se, this watch has its lot of qualities, despite its movement, which for me, is its biggest issue. Best, Mostel. Nicolas

For my own eyes, I would never confuse the mighty MB with a Patek... but yes, generally can not argue... But the GP --at a brief glance--sometimes gets me thinking it's a Patek... And agree with the movement comment. GP in general 'desperately' needs to u...

Lovely looking GP

Yes, very similar visually to the PP, but worth a further look. Nice to see that GO hasn’t gone crazy with super long lugs.
