A new arrival : the Vintage 1945 Infinity.
After so much teasing from Nicolas with his superb Ref.2599 Chronograph it was time to also get me one of these remarkable watches 
.
I first saw this limited to 88 pcs Infinity version with the magic Onyx dial almost three years ago and it left a great impression with me.
Typically,rectangular watches would not fit well the shape of my wrist (ex. Reverso) but the dramatically curved case of this watch changes it all.
Add to that a pretty reasonable lug to lug width of less than 50mm and we have a watch that fits like a glove.
On the wrist the watch has a similar presence than a 41-42 mm round watch.
The 3300 movement is very capable , well finished,very accurate, ....but also very small.
On round watches that can cause dial layout issues (as with most 1966 models) but none of this is apparent with this particular case shape where the date and small seconds/moonphase are harmoniously integrated.
Very happy to have this in my collection.

We often discussed about the size of the movements from this case the rectangular shape prevents that the movement architecture becomes obvious on the dial layout. The width of the dial opening is almost the exact size of the movement diameter.

Unfortunately my AD only had the Laureato with the Onyx dial. This one looks perfect!
I also liked the Laureato with the onyx dial.
And the 1966 would have been so much better without the (small) date indication.
The onyx dial is really spectacular.
I can only imagine the technical difficulties to cut this stone for such a curved case design.
Simply gorgeous and never seen before. Is it still available?

Beautiful, clean looking watch.
